HOW I STARTED THE HUMBLE BAKER

SAVED, HEALED, REDEEMED

This is where I’m supposed to tell you I’ve always loved to bake…

…but I didn’t.

I was chasing chaos, not kitchens.

It took hitting a breaking point—finding Jesus—and becoming a domestic violence survivor, walking away from a drug-addicted husband with a newborn in my arms and a preteen by my side… to start over.

In the quiet, restless nights that followed, I found myself in the kitchen.

At first, it was survival.
A way to steady my mind.
Something constant when everything else wasn’t.

But God had other plans.

What started as coping became a calling.

I began serving in my church—cooking and baking for others—and discovered a love I never knew I had. Not just for baking, but for serving people.

Then everything I thought was secure fell apart during the COVID-19 pandemic.

So I baked to survive—$20 a dozen cupcakes, late nights, early mornings.

And God grew it.

He asked me to obey—to let go of everything, move back home, and trust Him.

So I did.

In Naples, I opened a bakery. By His grace, it flourished—we served people, won awards, and built something meaningful.

And then… it closed.

I tried to rebuild in my own strength—and failed.

Until I surrendered.

“God, what do You want from me?”

The answer was simple:

Stop chasing success.
Start chasing Me.
Go back to the joy.

So that’s where I am now.

Baking slower. More intentionally.
Not to prove anything—just to serve, create, and glorify God with what He’s given me.

This isn’t just baking.

It’s obedience.
It’s healing.
It’s purpose.

This is where you’ll find me—
The Humble Baker.
